When Car Dings Cause Your Garage Door to Come Off Track

One of the most common reasons for your garage door to come off its track is you hit it with the car. Even a minor scrape at 3 to 5 mph can damage the track and cause the door to pop off the next time you use it. If you hit the track backing up, turn off the car, step out and inspect the damage. If there is damage, no matter how minor, call a professional garage repairman for a more experienced inspection. Many offer emergency garage door services, 24 hours a day. If the garage door does come off track, stop using it immediately. Keep kids, pets and anyone else out of the area until it has been fixed.
