If you find yourself in need of garage door repair or are in the market for a new garage door, it may help to understand the various parts of a garage door and what they do. The section joints are the joints between the panels of a section garage door. They allow the door to fold. The bottom brackets include the rollers and connect to the cables that lift the door. The cable drum is the grooved drum connected to the torsion spring shaft that winds the spring. The rear hanger track is fastened to the garage door ceiling and guides the rollers as the door moves up and down.
